POKHARA, Dec 26: Leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal Faction Dev Prasad Gurung has said that restoration of House of Representatives (HoR) was needed to safeguard and implement the Constitution of Nepal.

Speaking at the plenum of NCP Gandaki Province Office in Pokhara on Saturday, Gurung argued that recommendation of the dissolution of the HoR was unconstitutional.

“The decision Prime Minister took to dissolve the HoR does not support the federal democratic republic and current form of governance,” Gurung argued.

Gurung, also the chief whip of NCP in the dissolved HoR, claimed that the HoR will be restored.

Similarly, another leader of the NCP Devendra Poudel stated that the party supported Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for government’s performance while arguing that dissolution of the sovereign HoR—over the party’s internal issues–elected from the people’s vote was a wrong move.
