I am not involved in the Lalita Niwas scam: Madhav Nepal

Kathmandu, Aug 14: Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has made it clear that he had no involvement in the Baluwatar’s Lalita Niwas land grabbing issue.

He said this while talking to media persons at Tribhuvan International Airport, who returned home after his visit to European countries on Monday.

He said that with good intention we returned 7 ropani of land to the name of the government, saying that the government’s land should be in the name of the government, and that he had allocated it in a lawful manner without giving compensation to anyone.

The day before Chairman Nepal was going to participate in the already fixed program, the Supreme Court of Nepal had ordered an investigation on him, but after going to the prearranged program, the media had accused him of spreading the illusion that he had escaped.

He recalled that even when he was about to shoot in Panchayat era, he did not run away. He said that he has not done anything wrong and will face the challenge and move forward. He said that he will continue to help in the investigation of the land case.

Chairman Nepal left for a visit to European countries including Switzerland, Spain, Croatia and the United Kingdom (UK) on Ashad 22. But on Ashad 21, the Supreme Court ordered an investigation into the former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Madhav Kumar Nepal in the Baluwatar land case.
