Baglung, Feb 1: IME Group has launched Ila Comfort Hotel, a luxury hotel in Baglung Bazaar, aiming to provide high-quality hospitality services for tourists visiting the Gandaki region via the Kaligandaki Corridor and Mid-Hill Highway.
Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey inaugurated the hotel on Saturday during a grand ceremony in Baglung. Addressing the event, Minister Pandey praised IME Group’s investment in tourism infrastructure, highlighting its positive impact on Nepal’s tourism industry. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting tourism as a key driver of economic prosperity.
Speaking at the event, Gandaki Province Minister Krishna Pathak acknowledged IME Group’s significant investments in tourism infrastructure across the country and encouraged further investments in Gandaki Province. “Chairman Dhakal has been investing in tourism infrastructure across all seven provinces. If there are obstacles in other areas like Taplejung, we invite you to bring your investment to Gandaki. Our people welcome further development of tourism infrastructure,” Minister Pathak stated.
IME Group Chairman and President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, expressed confidence that the new hotel in Baglung would contribute to the region’s tourism development. According to Chairman Dhakal, IME Group has invested some Rs 300 million to establish the hotel.
He further emphasized that investments in tourism and hydropower sectors play a multi-dimensional role in improving Nepal’s economy and people’s living standards. “This hotel will provide world-class hospitality services to tourists and visitors. With its strategic location along the Kali Gandaki Corridor, we expect a significant increase in Indian and Chinese tourists traveling via the Sunauli border (India) and Korala border (China). This will contribute to the economic, cultural, and tourism development of Baglung and the entire Kaligandaki region.”
