India donates relief materials worth Rs 160 million



Kathmandu, Nov 5: Indian government has handed over the relief materials worth Rs 160 million to Nepal for the survivors of Jajarkot earthquake.

As per Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to extend utmost support to Nepal at this hour of crisis, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka was handed over the first consignment of emergency support for the Jajarkot quake survivors, according to Indian Embassy in Nepal. The support was handed over at Nepalgunj Airport.

The Indian Army’s special craft brought forth the relief materials weighing over 11 tons. The materials include tarpaulin sheets, blankets, sleeping bags, portable ventilators, medical equipment and essential medicines.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, hand over the relief materials in the presence of Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Raj Kumar Sharma.

Additional support materials were also arriving in Nepal, the press release issued by the Embassy stated.
