Kathmandu, May 11: The Government of India has provided 15 electric vehicles as support for the first edition of the “Sagarmatha Sambad”, a global dialogue platform on climate change scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18. Ambassador of India to Nepal Naveen Srivastava handed over the vehicle to Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal Dr Arzu Rana Deuba at a ceremony organised at the ministry today.
Speaking at the event, Dr Rana expressed her gratitude to the Government of India, calling for mutual coordination and collective efforts for addressing climate change, a common challenge faced by both Nepal and the region.

She said that the dialogue will highlight the shared problems of the region related to climate change and serves as a model for collective efforts to find solutions. She praised India’s support in this regard.
Dr Rana informed that preparations for the dialogue have reached the final stage and the government of Nepal is looking forward to welcoming foreign dignitaries and guests.

On the occasion, Ambassador Srivastava informed about India’s support in Nepal’s economic, social and other sectors and expressed satisfaction in contributing to the support for the Sagarmatha Sambad. He reiterated India’s commitment to standing with Nepal in addressing challenges posed by climate change. #Nepal
