KATHMANDU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr Harsh Vardhan said India was always in favour of stable, prosperous and strong Nepal.

At an inaugural session of the NC’s ongoing 14th general convention on Friday, leader Vardhan said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes Nepal to be a strong, improved and stable country.

“Modi wants Nepal Indai relations on culture and connectivity in terms of road, train, aviation and energy harmonious”.

On the occasion, he expressed confidence that Nepal and India would build further improved relations in coming days. India is willing to connect Nepal through different means of connectivity and further consolidate the existing bilateral relations, he further said.

“I did not even see such a number of ex-Prime Ministers in a forum at once. Such a culture is rarely found in other countries”, leader Bardhan noted, adding this sense of togetherness is inspiring for others.

India had also felt pain to the level Nepal experienced in and aftermath of the 2015 earthquake, he said, adding Indian citizens feel pain when Nepali people come across any trouble.

Nepal and India have witnessed improving relations everyday and are making stronger bond on expanding different means of connectivity, he added. On the occasion, leader Bardhan had extended best wishes on behalf of PM Modi and BJP Chair JP Nadda.

Likewise, General Secretary Indian National Congress Mukul Wasanik expressed his glory while delivering remarks in such a high-profile programme.

“Nepali Congress (NC) is a backbone of democracy so he felt glorified to be the part of the event”, he added.

Indian National Congress and Nepali Congress have a historical tie, he said, adding Nepal-India relations are unique and exemplary in comparison to the relations with others.

He made it clear that his party was ever ready to discharge any role in deepening the mutual relations between the two countries.
