Indian killed in exchange of fire in Kanchanpur



KANCHANPUR: An Indian national was killed in an exchange of fire that took place between smugglers and Nepal police at Belauri of Kanchanpur this evening.

A gang of Indian smugglers fired at the Nepal police in the Nepal-India border region in Paulaha in Belauri municipality-7, according to spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur DSP Amar Bahadur Thapa.

The police fired in response leading to death of the Indian youth of around 25 years old. Police recovered machine used to print fake currency notes, banned drugs and documents from the deceased.

Following the incident, DSP Thapa has left for the site along with a team to look into the matter.
