Kathmandu, March 9: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held warm telephone conversations with Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and senior party leader Balendra (Balen) Shah following their party’s victory in Nepal’s elections.
During the calls, Modi congratulated both leaders on their individual electoral victories and the party’s strong performance in the polls. He also extended his best wishes for the formation of the new government.
The Indian Prime Minister reiterated India’s commitment to work closely with Nepal for mutual prosperity, development and the well-being of the people of both nations.
Modi expressed confidence that with joint efforts, bilateral relations between India and Nepal would reach new heights in the coming years.
In the recently held general election for House of Representatives, RSP has secured almost two-third majority, a landslide and surprising victory. The general election was called after the gen z protest on September 8 and 9, 2025. #nepal #rsp #modi
