Indian President Murmu congratulates President Paudel

Kathmandu, March 17: Indian President Droupadi Murmu made a telephone conversation with newly-elected President of Nepal, Ram Chandra Paudel, Friday evening.

President Murmi congratulated Paudel on being elected the President of Nepal and also extended best wishes for his successful tenure as the Head-of-the-State.

In the telephonic conversation, President Murmu expressed happiness on the election of Paudel having consistent struggle and contributions to the democratic movement of Nepal as the President, shared Foreign Affairs Advisor to President Paudel, Dr Suresh Chandra Chalise.

Both the Presidents shared common view that Nepal and India have a very close and cordial relations with century-old cultural, religious and geographical proximities. They also expressed the confidence that the persisting bilateral relations would further grow in the days to come.

Also on the occasion, President Paudel had extended invitation to his Indian counterpart Murmu to visit Nepal and offer worships at Pashupatinath.
