Kathmandu: A total of 2,736 new cases of COVID-19 was confirmed today in the country. In 12,690 PCR tests carried out, 1,059 women and 1,677 men tested positive to the virus.
This takes the total number of infection to 199,760 in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. Among them, 66,945 or 34 per cent are women and 132,815 or 66 per cent are men.
The total number of active cases is 38,035. Of them, 29,734 are in home-based isolation and other in hospitals and institutional-based isolation.
Likewise, 853 people recovered to their normal health today, taking the total recoveries to 160,577. The recovery percentage in the country is 80 per cent.
In Kathmandu valley, 1,420 people were confirmed positive including 603 women and 817 men.
Meanwhile, 22 people succumbed to the virus today, taking the death toll to 1,148. The fatality percentage is 0.6 per cent. Another, 404 are undergoing treatment in ICU while 96 are in ventilator support.
Districts with more than 500 active cases of Corona Virus are Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi (east), Dang, Rupandehi and Kailali. Manang is the only district with no active case.
