International Rafting Challenge from October 25

            Pokhara, Oct 23 : The Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) Gandaki state is hosting a Kayaking Challenge, a rafting competition of an international standard.

            The event named ‘Kasanga Challenge’ has been scheduled on October 25-26, according to the organiser.  

            The event will be held under men’s and women’s category, NARA Gandaki chair Birendra Lama said.

            The event is composed of cycling on seven and half kilometers from Hallanchowk of Pokhara to Yamdi Dobhan, race on six kilometers from Yamdi Dohbhan to Mardi River Dobhan and river race on eight kilometers from Mardi River Dobhan to Yamdi Dobhan

            The winner will go home with a cash prize of Rs 100 thousand while the first and second runner-ups will bag Rs 50 thousand and Rs 25 thousand, respectively.

            Similarly, participants coming out the first, second and third in both cycling and running will receive Rs 30 thousand, Rs 20 thousand and Rs 10 thousand respectively.

            Around 200 participants from Nepal, Canada, India, Australia, Britain, Argentina, Austria, France, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand and Japan will be participating in the event.
