Irish Upper House Chairperson Buttimer, Speaker Ghimire visit Chandragiri



Kathmandu, Jan 9: The Irish Upper House Chairperson Jerry Buttimer has visited Chandragiri Hills today. Buttimer is on a five-day official visit to Nepal.

Chairperson Buttimer reached Chandragiri on Tuesday afternoon with Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire. The Chandragiri Hills Acting General Manager Shyam Tandukar welcomed the guests including Chairperson Buttimer, Speaker Ghimire and other delegation members.

Mr Tandukar briefed about the historical, religious and touristic importance of Chandragiri.

Chandragiri Hills is developing as an important tourist and religious destination in South Asia. Heads of government and heads of state of various countries as well as international personalities have reached Chandragiri by cable car.

Few weeks back, Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Mohammad Ubias Mohammad Ali Sabry reached Chandragiri. Similarly, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also arrived here. Foreign Minister Yi also trekked a little down from here.

Meanwhile, Irish Chairperson Buttimer and Speaker Ghimire held a bilateral meeting at the Speaker’s office at Singha Durbar. During the meeting, matters relating to bilateral relations between the two countries and the exchange of parliamentary experience were discussed, the personal secretariat of the Speaker informed. #Nepal
