Kathmandu Metropolis organizes Employment Festival

Kathmandu, June 6: The Kathmandu Metropolis today hosted an employment fair at local Tundikhel to link the graduates of its recent Seep Mela (Skills Festival) with prospective employers.

The Employment Fair showcased the vocational skills that were learned and enhanced from the Skills Festival and products manufactured by using the same skills.

According to Kathmandu Metropolis’ Urban Planning Commission member and Skills Festival Directive Committee’s engineer Shailendra Jha, those skills that can’t be demonstrated through the products have been promoted through a video play and the mutual conversation with potential employees and employers.

Employers can accquire information about the available human resources and their details as per their needs through the festival.

During the 15-day and 30-day vocational training classes organised by the metropolis recently, 2,715 people benefitted. According to the training coordinator, the highest number (639) of graduates represent the information technology sector number.

Practical sessions on digital marketing, computer hardware, CCTV, and mobile maintenance were organized during the 15-day training.   A total of 580 trainees joined the beautician training course.

The Skills Festival was organised under the theme of ‘Growth in Employment and Income, Kathmandu’s Prosperity’ under its Pride Project. #nepal
