KMC collects more revenue, fines proposed for removing hoarding boards

Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has collected revenue of Rs 4.34 billion till December 30 of the current financial year 2079/80 BS.

Dr Shivraj Adhikari, Head of KMC Revenue Department, said that KMC has collected Rs 3.69 billion during the same period of the last financial year 2078/79 BS. Dr. Adhikari gave information about revenue collection in the revenue consultation committee meeting held in KMC on Wednesday.

The meeting also decided that the Revenue Advisory Committee will take a proposal to the Municipal Assembly to determine the amount of fines that will be imposed for the removal of unauthorized boards within the KMC.

It is proposed that KMC will levy a fine of minimum Rs. 500 and maximum of Rs. 3,000 to remove such boards. The location and use of goods and equipment is the basis for determining fines.
