Kathmandu, June 25: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has unveiled budget of over Rs 25.4 billion for the next fiscal year, 2023/24. The budget size is bigger by around Rs 140 million as compared to that of the previous year.
The budget was presented by KMC deputy mayor Sunita Dangol, also coordinator of the budget and programme committee, in City Hall in Kathmandu today. Over Rs 8.6 billion has been allocated under current expenditure, and more than Rs 16.9 billion under capital expenditure.
The KMC has accorded high priorities to health, education and infrastructure development. Over Rs 7.3 billion has been set aside for infrastructure development, Rs 1.3 billion for education, and Rs 926 million for health.
Rs 3.8 billion has been allocated for the KMC’s pride projects of 10 thematic areas, and Rs 2 billion for projects of 25 thematic areas under the City’s golden plan. Similarly, Rs 70 million has been allocated for waste management. RSS
