Kyrgyzstan defeats Nepal in Central Asian Volleyball Championship



Kathmandu, Oct 10: In the ongoing Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) U-20 Men’s Championship in Sri Lanka, Nepal suffered a defeat against Kyrgyzstan.

In a closely contested match held in Colombo, Nepal lost to Kyrgyzstan with a set of 3-2. After losing the first two sets 23-25 and 21-25, Nepal rallied back to win the next two sets 25-21 and 25-22. However, in the final decisive set, Nepal fell short, losing 17-19.

Throughout the tournament, Nepal has earned seven points from four matches. Previously, Nepal had convincingly defeated both Sri Lanka and the Maldives with a straight-set score of 3-0, but suffered a 3-1 defeat against Uzbekistan. In contrast, Kyrgyzstan has garnered four points from four matches, having lost to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan 0-3 before narrowly beating Sri Lanka 3-2.

Looking ahead, Nepal will play its final group match against Turkmenistan on Friday. The tournament features participants including the host nation Sri Lanka, Nepal, Turkmenistan, the Maldives, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
