Lightning shock kills two people in Parbat on Saturday evening

Parbat, April 14: Two people died in two separate places of Parbat’s Modi Rural Municipality due to lightning strikes on Saturday evening. A woman died in Modi-1 Bhuktangle and a man died in Ward No. 7 of Ramjadeurali.

According to local police, 58-year-old Prem Kumari Shahi of Bhukatangle and 57-year-old Shalikram Timilsina, a resident teacher of Jeevanjyoti School in Ramjadeurali, died due to lightning.

Timilsana was taken to Gandaki Medical College in Pokhara for treatment, however doctor declared him dead. He had to face lightning at his house at 6.30 pm on Saturday.

Similarly, Shahi, who was taken to the Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara after being injured by lightning, was also declared dead by the doctor.

Hailstorm along with the flash rain of Saturday evening has also caused damage in Parbat’s Modi Rural Municipality. The local Prakash Chapagain informed that the orange trees that have just begun to bear fruit in Ward No. 2 of Deupur have been destroyed. #nepal
