Livestock service centre resumes after a year



Jumla, March 4: A livestock service centre closed for a year resumed on Sunday. The centre located at Jumlakot village of Tila rural municipality-8 resumed service, thereby elating the farmers.

The facility resumed after the impact of a RSS news story that explained the closure of the livestock centre for lack of veterinarians and subsequent plight of the farmers. The news was disseminated by RSS on January 22. With this, the local level managed a livestock technician.

Rural municipality Chair Moti Lal Rokaya informed that a non-gazetted first class officer (nayab subba), which is livestock technician, was mobilized in the centre.

The centre was established to provide services to the people at their doorsteps, but the service was disrupted for lack of technical employees at livestock development section in the rural municipality, according to Gorikala Budha, Vice Chairperson.

However, Non-Gazatted first class officer Mahat said, “The centre has no medicine at all for treating the livestock. So, the local level has been demanded immediate supply.” The people from ward no 8 and 9 of the local level involve in sheep farming.
