
Lamjung, Feb 28: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, and Deputy General Secretary of the CPN UML, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said the local governments need to be accountable and sensitive to people.
Minister Gurung said it while addressing a gathering organized by UML Lamjung committee at Beshisahar on Friday. As the closest government to locals, the local government should identify their problems and resolve accordingly. The works of the local governments should be reflected in people’s realization, he said, informing that the government was focused on good governance and transparency.
Similarly, he reminded the local levels to be aware of their rights and deliver services. Long term planning and effective implementation could make government effective, the Minister argued. Gurung further viewed people were despair because the local levels could not make publicity of their good works.
Government has intensified the process to pay sugarcane and dairy farmers. Even the problems of cooperative victims and loan sharking were being addressed, he added.Central member of the UML and Lamjung In-Charge, Jamindra Man Ghale, suggested the local governments that they made midterm review of their performance.#nepal #political #rss
