Local levels demanded details on school adjustment



Kathmandu, April 15: The Education and Human Resource Development Centre under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has demanded information on school merger and establishment of new schools as part of the implementation of 100-point governance reform plan.

The Cabinet meeting held on March 27 had taken decision on 100-point reform scheme. As per the scheme, the local levels are urged to send details on number of school adjustment, including merger, carried out on the basis of changing demographic dynamics, geographical difficulty and remoteness, and number of students.

Centre’s Director Dr Shyam Prasad Acharya also informed that the schools run on private investment and those run on public guthi were asked to submit information whether they had provided scholarship to the students as per the Act Relating to Compulsory and Free Education, 2075.

The local levels are also urged to ensure schooling to the children deprived of birth registrations. They could be managed schooling based on the documents certified by the local levels, it added.
