KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Police have arrested Director at Lumbini Sugar Mill Manoj Agrawal. He was arrested from Parsa.
At the request of the Metropolitan Crime Branch, Baneshwor, the District Police Office, Parsa arrested him.
It has not been decided whether to send Agrawal to Kathmandu or start legal proceedings from Nawalparasi.
According to the records provided by the police, Lumbini Mill was yet to pay Rs 90 million to the sugarcane farmers. Out of that, Rs. 13.6 million has been deposited by the mill.
The main directors of four of the sugarcane mills have not been arrested so far on the charge of cheating farmers.
