Kathmandu, March 25: Five people, including Nepali cricket national team all-rounder Adil Ansari and former national team player Mahbub Alam, have been acquitted.
Kathmandu District Court acquitted both of them. The bench of Judge Kamal Prasad Pokharel acquitted them saying that the claim of spot fixing was not sufficient.
They were accused of spot-fixing in the Nepal T-20 League held in Kathmandu last year. After their arrest, they were released on bail of three lakh rupees last year.
Adil has played 6 ODIs and 8 T20Is for Nepal. Adil, who created the image of an explosive batter, has not appeared in the Nepali team because of the allegations.
It was alleged that Mahbub Alam offered spot fixing to some cricketers including Adil.
In 2008, Mahbub took 10 wickets against Mozambique in 7.5 overs with 1 maiden for 12 runs and also wrote his name in the Guinness book at that time. #Nepal
