Maoist Centre showing frustration over being out of government: PM Oli

KP Sharma Oli

Biratnagar, Nov 12: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that threat of protests from the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) reflect frustration over not being part of the government. He emphasized that unnecessary disputes should not be raised over issues that have not even materialized.

Speaking to journalists in Biratnagar on Monday evening, Prime Minister Oli responded to the allegations made by Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” regarding the government’s preparation for an agreement on the U.S. State Partnership Program (SPP), which Prachanda claims would weaken the nation and its sovereignty. Oli dismissed the claims, stating that there has been no discussion or current issue surrounding the SPP.

When asked about the formation of a commission for constitutional amendments, Oli clarified that this is a matter for the Parliament and that there was no need to establish such a commission immediately. On the issue of power supply to industries, he assured that the government is focused on ensuring industries and factories can operate smoothly and contribute to economic prosperity, even if power supply issues were not immediately resolved.

Prime Minister Oli was in Biratnagar following his participation in the 13th convocation ceremony at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, before returning to Kathmandu. #oli #nepal #SPP
