Maoist Centre to conduct municipal level convention on Saturday

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Centre) is all set to conduct its convention at 753 local levels tomorrow (Saturday).

Party Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to inaugurate the municipal level convention at once virtually. The time for his address to the convention is fixed at 1:00 pm.

The conference will select representatives for party province conference, said Bishnupukar Shrestha, chief of the central election commission of the Maoist Centre.

The province conference is slated for December 11 and the national conference for December 26 to 28. Preparations for the municipal level conference has been over, said the Maoist Centre.

For the national convention, election commission has already been formed and directives and the code of conduct made as per the party statute, said Shrestha.

Likewise, election committees at province level have been formed a month ago.

The elected representatives from ward level conference will elect a leadership representing 35 percent women, 20 percent youths, 15 percent Dalit people and five percent Muslim community.
