KATHMANDU: An agreement was reached between the Cricket Association of Nepal and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Tuesday to hold the Mayor’s Cup-2077 by mid-April.
The agreement was signed between the President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and the Chief Administrative Officer of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) at a function held at the National City Hall. As per the agreement, the KMC will provide Rs 5 million to the organizing Cricket Association of Nepal.
Speaking after the agreement, CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand said that the support of the KMC has started and such competitions would be an exercise for the players to participate at the international level.
As per the agreement, the KMC will provide 60 percent of the amount to CAN as per the first installment and 40 percent after the completion of the competition. The one-day competition will be held at the Tribhuvan University’s International Cricket ground in Kirtipur.
