Kathmandu, June 7: The representatives of the Mayors’ Forum, a network of mayors of municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley, met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Friday.
The meeting was summoned by the PM to discuss the roles and responsibilities of the federal government and local government in the waste management of the valley.
On the occasion, the PM Dahal informed the office-bearers of the Forum that the Investment Board of Nepal has advanced the needed process for the waste management of the valley as per the Forum’s recommendation for the federal government’s coordination for the waste management of the Kathmandu Valley.
The PM Dahal shared that the Investment Board has decided to implement the assignment. “Now, this job will advance swiftly,” PM Dahal said.
Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiri Babu Maharjan, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Sunita Dangol and mayors of other municipalities of the Kathmandu Valley were present on the occasion.
