Meeting between Deuba and Prachanda at Budhanilkantha

KATHMANDU: The Unified CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday called on Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence at Budhanilkantha.

Prachanda reached Deuba’s residence at 4 pm and discussed the latest political developments, power-sharing and possible developments, said Deuba’s personal secretary Bhanu Deuba. According to Bhanu, Deuba and Prachanda had a one-on-one talk for about half an hour.

A meeting of the Standing Committee of the Maoist Center held on Tuesday after the Supreme Court revived the party had decided to hold talks with the main opposition parties, the Congress and the JSP, to form a new government. Immediately after the party’s decision, Prachanda went to his residence in Budhanilkantha to meet Deuba.

Meanwhile, CPN (UML) has formed a three member taskforce to forge alliance with the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
