KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has instructed the officials to demolish the huts built by encroaching upon the land of the Pashupatinath Temple premises.

After an inspection visit to the Pashupatinath Temple area on Sunday, Minister Ale gave a deadline of 15 days to demolish such huts.

“Huts have been built to seize the land at Guheshwori area. I have ordered to demolish the huts. Encroachment is unacceptable,” Minister Ale said.

On the occasion, Ale said anomalies existed at the Pashupati Area Development Trust in the past and the past Member Secretary leased land of the Trust for free- without monthly rent.

“Many of the places in the area were leased without approval from the Trust and such trend will be ended,” the Minister said.

Likewise, Minister Ale instructed the stakeholders to ensure quality of the buildings made for the death ritual attendees.
