Minister Chaudhary echoes need of utilising skills of Nepali diaspora

Kathmandu, Oct 28: Minister for Youth and Sports, Tejulal Chaudhary, has pledged to issues concerning the non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) in the upcoming youth policy.

In his address to the session on Empowerment of Nepali Diaspora for National Building held during the ongoing NRNA AGM and Global Conclave 2024 here today, the Minister said the draft of the policy is likely to be endorsed by the Council of Ministers soon and the NRNs’ issues could be adjusted in the document.

He applauded the thought of Nepali diaspora to utilise diverse skills, competency and capital they secured abroad for the case of their motherland. He spoke about the potentiality for mobilizing diaspora youths in the areas of language, culture, production, tourism promotion, education, health and social sectors, utisling their skills in research and innovations.

Former Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Padam Giri, echoed a prompt need of a substantive plan to connect new generations to nation-building efforts.

Similarly, CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Ram Kumari Jhanrki said immigration is a part of the human civilisation, insisting on positive attitude among all to build the nation.

Nepali Congress leader Kedar Karki said the NRNs who are always with Nepal in each hard and happy momenths deserve better treatment while arriving Nepal. He urged the State to enable atmosphere for bringing skills and capital from the second and third generations of NRNs ti the country.

NRN youth Samira KC said NRN youths like here are ready to utilize their skills and competency in Nepal.

On the occasion, Paralympic gold medalist Palesha Goverdhan was honored with a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Her father Pradip Goverdhan was there to receive the award on behalf of the athlete.

Similarly, Karate’s Arika Gurung ,  the winner of silver medical in the Asian Games was honored with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and Yanoj Maharjan who won the gold the 7th world Gojuryo Karatae held in in Vienna of Australia received a cash prize of Rs 20,000. #NRN #nepal
