Minister Kharel calls for building inclusive Nepal



Kathmandu, Dec 2: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagdish Kharel, has called on everyone for their togetherness to build an inclusive Nepal.

Inaugurating the Kulung language page in the Gorkhapatra daily amidst a programme at Gokarneshwor-3, Kathmandu on Tuesday, Minister Kharel viewed a collective campaign could help Nepal enrich inclusion. “Diversity in language, culture and communities is a true identity of Nepal. So, the addition of Kulung language in the Gorkhapatra publication is a significant contribution to it. It is imperative to nurture the inclusive campaign from respective places,” he observed.

Government is for reaching the doorsteps of all communities and the attendance to this programmes also reflect it. According to the minister, the government has intensified preparations for holding the slated March 5 election to the House of Representatives and ensuring good governance.

“The government formed on the back up of Gen Z movement is poised to hold the HoR election coming March 5 and pave way for good governance,” the spokesperson of the government reiterated, adding that employment creation is also a priority.
Election is a pillar of democracy which needs further strengthening with good governance initiatives, he asserted.

On the occasion, Secretary at Information Ministry, Radhika Aryal, said inclusion of Kulung language in Gorkhapatra publication is also a well recognition to the Kulung community. It is a historic deed, she said, urging the Gorkhapatra management and editors to make it worthy in the days to come.

Chairman of the Nepal Kirat Kulung Language and Culture Promotion Association, Chandra Singh Kulung welcomed Minister Kharel by offering him a cultural costume, phega at the programme.

Also speaking on the occasion were General Manager at Gorkhapatra Corporation, Lal Bahadur Airi, and Chief Editor Junar Babu Basnet. They vowed further initiatives to quality publication and credible journalism. #nepal #rss
