Minister Sharma urges to take reconstruction as opportunity to serve people



Salyan, Dec 2: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has urged the volunteers deployed in the earthquake hit districts to work honestly considering reconstruction there as people’s service.

Minister Sharma was addressing the volunteers deployed to construct temporary settlements to the quake-hit people at Dhakadamkot village of Darma Rural Municipality-5 in Salyan district on Saturday.

Minister Sharma shared that the government, political parties and people should work from their respective positions with the aspirations of service as a top priority.

Saying that the tasks of the resettlement should be expedited in a war footing manner to shift the quake-hit people into the temporary residence from the tarpaulins, Minister Sharma called for support from all sides to complete the reconstruction works within a year.

On the occasion, Minister Sharma, Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative of Karnali Province Bhim Prakash Sharma, Maoist Centre leaders Bimala KC, Naresh Bhandari, Chairman of Darma Rural Municipality Nim Bahadur KC and other leaders joined the labour donation bid in the village.

The rural municipality witnessed a huge damage from the November 3 earthquake where almost 1,200 houses are completely destroyed while 1,000 others suffered partial damages.
