Monsoon winds gradually fading, westerly influence persists in western Nepal

Kathmandu, Oct 7: The influence of monsoon winds is gradually weakening across the country. However, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Meteorological Forecasting Division reports that westerly winds are still affecting several areas in the western regions of Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces, as well as parts of western Gandaki Province.

According to the Division’s latest weather bulletin, skies will remain mostly cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, including other hilly areas, while the remaining Tarai regions will experience partly cloudy conditions.

The bulletin also mentions the possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in the hilly and Tarai areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in a few hilly locations of other provinces and isolated parts of the Tarai.

For tonight, the Department forecasts generally overcast conditions in Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces and other hilly areas, while the rest of the Tarai will remain partly cloudy. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is also likely in some hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Koshi provinces, and at a few isolated places in the remaining Tarai regions. #nepal #weather #monsoon
