Kathmandu, Sept 16: So far 395 mountaineers from 47 expedition teams have received route permits for climbing different mountain peaks in Nepal including the Sagarmatha (Mount Everest) for this autumn season.
According to the Department of Tourism, among those acquiring permission for mountain climbing, 305 are males and 90 females. This season is considered suitable for climbing the Mount Manaslu.
So far, the number of expedition squads seeking permission to make attempts to scale the Mount Manaslu is encouraging.
A total of 26 expedition teams comprising 260 members have so far been granted permission for the same in this autumn.
In 2018, 190 people of 18 expedition teams had gone from the Manaslu climbing.
Similarly, 30 people of two expedition teams are allowed for Dhaulagiri Peak.
So far, the Department has collected royalty around 40 million from the route permits for autumn.
The number seeking the permission is expected to increase as it is granted till the Tihar festival.
