Bharatpur, Oct 30: More than 20,000 tourists visited Chitwan National Park (CNP) during the Dasain holidays. Out of which there were 13,233 Nepalese.
They entered the park through different entrances. Information officer of the park Ganesh Prasad Tiwari informed that 6,048 foreigners and 779 people from SAARC countries visited the Park. According to him, there have been 737 jeep safaris during the same period.
According to Tiwari, most of the visitors entered the park from Sauraha area. A total of 12,558 Nepalese, 4,543 foreigners, and 563 people from SAARC countries have visited Sauraha region.
Similarly, 308 Nepalese, 766 foreigners, 104 people from SAARC countries entered from Kasara region while 277 Nepalese, 505 foreigners and 109 people from SAARC from Meghauli region. Likewise tourists also used Madi, Amaltari and Kujauli entry points.
During Dasain, Rs 1.85 crores of revenue has been collected. According to Tiwari, the number of visitors to the park has increased this year compared to last year. He said that the number of tourists who have decreased due to Covid19 is gradually increasing.
