Mountaineer Purja appointed ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ for Nepal’s tourism

Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has appointed celebrated mountaineer Nirmal Purja Goodwill Ambassador of Nepal’s Tourism.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale made this announcement amid a special programme organised at the Ministry on Thursday.

Purja was appointed a goodwill ambassador for his contribution to promoting Nepal in the world.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ale expressed his happiness for announcing Purja as a goodwill ambassador and extended his best wishes for further success in the mountaineering sector.

Purja on the other hand expressed that the felicitation had added responsibility and committed to working much harder for promoting Nepal in the world.

Purja is notable for climbing all 14 mountains above 8,000 meters including Mt. Everest, K2 and Kanchenjangha in a record time of six months and six days.

His documentary ’14 peaks, Nothing is Impossible’ has gained huge popularity in the world.
