Rukum East, Dec 13, 2019 : The mountainous belt in the district witnessed snowfall on Thursday. The snow blanketing mountains has been exuding 0beauty and radiance.

The snowfall brought biting cold, thereby affecting people’s daily activities here. The mountain rage bared black with quick snow-melting owing to the climate change in the recent years has however been snow-capped lately.

The natural beauty has attracted many tourists from across the country. The tourists are relishing the snowfall despite biting cold. Meanwhile, telephone service has been disrupted in Rukum East.

Students attending exam braving severe cold

Jajarkot : The snowfall in Dolpa district has badly affected the annual exam at schools that kicked off on Thursday. Upper and mid-hill of Dolpa is blanketed with snow, bringing biting cold.

However, the students are bound to sit in the exams. The snowfall and cloudy weather caused students shivering, said teacher Harish Joshi from Laxmi Secondary School at Thulobheri municipality. The students faced difficulty to write owing to numbness. The school has however made fire in its premises in a bid to fend off cold.

Growing cold has also affected senior citizens and sick ones. A local from Tripurasundari municipality-3, Junraj Rokaya, informed that they were not able to get out of home for chilling cold.

Similarly, teacher at Saraswati Secondary School of Jagdulla, Man Bahadur Rokaya, informed that it would be difficult to continue exam if the snowfall is not stopped.
