Bhadrapur, Sept 18: Multiple cases have been registered against five cadres of Netra Bikram Chand Group including district in-charge and secretary who were arrested for detonating bombs and unleashing terror in different parts of Jhapa.
According to Mahendra Kumar Shrestha, Spokesperson of District Police Office, the arrestees were charged with the cases of treason, arms and ammunition, organized crime, explosives and extortion.
Police have identified the arrestees as district in-charge Praveen Mishra, 34, of Mangsebung, Ilam, district chief Tika Pokharel, 44, of Haldibari-5 and Anul Saru Magar, 26, of Bhimphedi, Makawanpur, among others.
Police arrested all of them from Birtamodh on Monday afternoon. Arms and publicity materials were recovered from the arrestees, police said.
Police had nabbed Mishra and Pokharel from a tea shop in Birtamod while Magar was caught from his rented room with two homemade pistols, four rounds bullets, donation receipts and other documents, shared Superintendant of Police (SP) Dinesh Mainali.
He informed that police had already arrested Chand Group’s Panchthar district in-charge Raju Das, Taplejung district in-charge Sagar Limbu, Ganesh Karki of Mechi bureau coordination committee, Taplejunbg secretary Narapati Poudel and Taplejung district committee member Yam Bahadur Limbu.
