Rukum, Feb 12: Two individuals, including an eight-month-old infant, were killed in a khukri attack in Sakim, Bhume rural municipality-4 in Rukum (East) on Tuesday noon.
The deceased have been identified as Dhanti Budha, 60, and his grandson Samir Budha. The tragic incident occurred while the elderly man and the infant were at home.
Chandra Singha Pun, 51, from the same area, allegedly attacked the two with a khukuri (a traditional weapon), as reported by DSP Madhav Raj Kharel of the District Police Office, Rukum (East).
When the police arrived at the scene, they found the elderly man and the infant dead. The suspect, Pun, was later found dead as well, according to DSP Madhav Raj Kharel of Rukum (East).
Pun’s body was discovered in a local stream, leading the police to suspect that he may have committed suicide by jumping off a cliff after the murders.
