Murrah buffaloes arrive from India to Nepal

Kathmandu, Nov 22: Buffaloes of the Murrah breed received in assistance from India to Nepal have arrived today through the Jamunaha transit of Banke.

The government of Nepal had been making efforts since long to bring the special breed of buffaloes with high fertility rate to the country.

Accordingly, during the last India visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s, it was announced that Murrah breed of buffaloes would be presented as assistance to Nepal.

The Department of Animal Services has said that the buffaloes will undergo due quarantine process before they are sent to National Animal Breeding Offices in Pokhara, Lahan and Nepalgunj.
