Kathmandu, Oct 15 : Nepali Cricket Team captain Parash Khadka has announced his resignation from the post today.
Expressing his happiness over the withdrawal of International Cricket Council (ICC) suspension on Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), he said he wished to see the CAN new committee work for betterment of Nepali Cricket, cricketers and bodies concerned.
The ICC lifted its suspension (imposed since April-May 2016) against CAN with conditions on Monday.
“Great to know that the suspension of Nepal cricket has been lifted and would like to wish the new committee to work for the betterment of Nepal cricket, players and its stake holders.
I have hereby decided to resign from my post as the captain of Nepal cricket team as there has to be a new way of taking things forward with a fresh start and a committed vision with everyone involved,” he writes.
Khadka who had his debut in the senior National Cricket Team in 2004 had been taking charge of the team captain since 2009, succeeding Binod Das.
During his captainship, Nepal had got the recognition of one-day international. Nepal had first time played the T20 World Cup in 2014.
