Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shashanka Koirala admitted that the party missed the opportunity for claiming government leadership due to failure in devising proper strategy.

Talking to journalists here today, he said, “The accident took place when the party could not arrange the strategy”.

He further claimed that the earlier ruling coalition would not have been broken had the party devised proper strategy.

Koirala, also the former general-secretary of the NC, said Pushpa Kamal Dahal had played crucial role in making Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minster from the ruling coalition.

“The problem arose when Deuba was intending to become the PM in the first round as the leader of the largest party in the parliament”, Koirala noted.

He further said NC would discharge the role of constructive opposition in the parliament.
