Baglung, July 11: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has remembered the role of the late Govinda Kandel in Nepali politics. Kandel had a significant contribution to Nepali politics, Deuba reminded.
President Deuba said it while addressing the condolence gathering the NC organized on 13th day of passing away of NC leader Govinda Prasad Sharma Kandel, a resident of Bihun in Baglung district. “Kandel adhered to BP’s ideology and remained honest and committed to democratic principles,” Deuba informed the gathering.
The NC President further said Kandel became a lawmaker but never wanted to hold power. He always advocated for people’s rights. “He has an incomparable contribution to the country and national politics,” Deuba said, urging NC cadres to follow his line.
In his evaluation, leader Kandel’s demise is a huge loss to party and national politics.Kandel was the member of House of Representatives from constituency no 1 of Baglung district with his victory in the 2048 general election.
