Rukum Purba, March 6: Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is contesting from Rukum Purba for the House of Representatives election is close to victory.
The vote count for the HoR election in the constituency is near final here. Out of 15,823 votes counted so far, Dahal is leading the tally with 8,747 votes, while he is trailed by Leelamani Gautam of the Nepali Communist Party candidate with 3,017.
The Nepali Congress candidate Kusum Devi Thapa is the third in race with 2,477 votes, according to chief election officer Shiva Prasad Khanal.
The updated count showed Lakhan Thapa of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) collecting 712 votes, while RPP’s Roshan Shah 73 votes, Rastriya Janamorcha’s Chandra Prasad Shahi 29 votes, Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party’s Sandip Pun 186 votes.
The National Mangol Organization’s candidate Jyoti Rokamagar has collected 54 votes, The National Republic Nepal’s Dharma Kumar Budha 48 votes, Juddha Bahadur Budhamagar of the Nepali Communist Party (Maoist) 40 votes, and the Janata Samajbadi Party’s Shir Bahadur Budha 5 votes.
So far, 435 votes have been announced invalid.
Currently, the vote count is going on for ward no 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of Puth Uttarganga rural municipality. Once the vote count is over, announcement will be made. #nepal #rss
