Nepal Airlines paid 53 crore to EPF, NLK as installment

Kathmandu, Oct 17: Nepal Airlines Corporation, the government’s flag carrier, has made the payment for the installment of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft for the month of Ashoj.

The corporation had taken loans from the Employees Provident Fund and the Citizens Investment Fund for the purchase of four Airbus aircraft for international flights.

Out of the loan obligations, the corporation has paid a total of Rs 53 crore 9 lakh for the installment of two narrow-body aircraft for the month of Ashoj 2081 and a partial payment for the two wide-body aircraft, as stated in a press release.

During the review period, the corporation has paid a total of Rs 6 arba 32 crore 97 lakh in installment payments. The corporation has requested both entities to provide assistance by waiving interest, penalties, and to facilitate the repayment of loan obligations by increasing the number of installments, citing the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business. #nepal #NAC
