Kathmandu, Nov 25: Nepal Airlines, the government owned entity, has finally paid Rs. 28 crore to Israel Aerospace for the repair of two narrow-body Airbus aircraft engines that had been in Israel for nearly two years.

According to reports, in total, Nepal Airlines has spent over Rs. 70 crore, around Rs. 28 crore for engine repairs and an additional Rs. 42 crore for renting replacement engines. Earlier, the Israeli company threatened Nepal Airlines to remove it’s rented engines.

The airline is currently operating with rented engines that cost Rs. 11 lakh per day.

After the new management recently took over, the board of NAC had decided to sort out the issue. Even Prime Minister Sushila Karki instructed the new management to clear all dues and keep the organization in line with good governance.  #nac #nepal
