Kathmandu, Feb 27: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced a 20-member Nepal’s national warm-up squad for the upcoming matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2.
Rohit Paudel will lead the side as captain, while all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee has been named vice-captain.
The squad includes Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Arjun Saud, Bhim Sharki, Aarif Sheikh, Bashir Ahmad and Gulshan Jha. Also named in the team are Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Rijan Dhakal, Lalit Rajbanshi, Shahab Alam, Sher Malla, Ishan Pandey, Aakash Chand and Hemant Dhami.
The League 2 competition is a crucial part of Nepal’s pathway toward ODI World Cup qualification. The team is expected to intensify preparations as it aims to improve its standing in the points table.
