Kathmandu, Oct 19: Nepal beat Hong Kong by six wickets in a match of the Triangular T20 Cricket Series underway in Kathmandu.
The match took place at the Mulpani Cricket Stadium today. Chasing victory target of 95 runs, Nepal achieved it in 13.5 overs losing four wickets. With this win, Nepal registered a second consecutive win. In its first match yesterday, it defeated the United Arab Emirates by seven wickets.
For Nepal, Aarif Sheikh hit highest 42 runs off 34 balls with six sixes. Similarly, Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel and Gulshan Jha remained unbeaten on 25 and 14 respectively. Kushal Bhurtel contributed eight. Ehsan Khan took three wickets singlehandedly and Yasim Murtaza one.
Losing the toss and batting first, Hong Kong made meagre 94 runs in 19.3 overs at the loss of all wickets. For the losing team, Yasim Murtaza hit highest 36 and Zeeshan Ali 17. Other players could not score double digits.
For Nepal, Karan KC took four wickets singlehandedly, and Abinash Bohara and Sompal Kami two each. Similarly, Kushal Malla and Shyam Dhakal one each.
