Kathmandu, Feb 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed confidence that the Third Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit 2025 will further strengthen bilateral ties between Nepal and Japan.
During a meeting at his official residence in Baluwatar today with the visiting Japanese delegation and Nepali coordinators of the summit, PM Oli highlighted the growing government-to-government and people-to-people relations between the two nations. He emphasized that these ties are now expanding into trade and economic partnerships as well.
“Nepalis have been working in Japan, and our buckwheat is available in Japanese markets. Similarly, Nepal imports Golden Trout from Japan. Our friendship is deep and built purely on goodwill. It has blossomed like the Sakura (cherry blossom), and now is the time to take our relationship to new heights with the support of information technology,” said PM Oli.
Reflecting on Japan’s post-war transformation, the Prime Minister remarked, “Japan has demonstrated that war leads to destruction, while peace fosters development. I extend my best wishes for global peace.”
