KATHMANDU: The coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 2,016 in the last 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, RT-PCR tests were performed on 4,704 people and antigen tests on 1,174 people. At the same time, the total number of COVID-19 infections in Nepal has reached 632,326.
In the last 24 hours, 30 people have died due to COVID-19 infection and 4,914 people have been recovered or discharge from hospitals. So far, the number of people infected with coronavirus in Nepal has reached 581,327. Likewise, a totall of 8,975 people have died with the COVID-19 infection, mostly the old-age people.
The number of active infected is 42,024 across the country. Of them, 39,199 are in home isolation and 2,825 are in institutional isolation. A total of 734 people are in ICUs and 222 in ventilators.
In the last 24 hours, 249 people have been confirmed infected in the Kathmandu Valley. There are 181 cases in Kathmandu, 43 in Lalitpur and 25 in Bhaktapur district.
Similarly, 127 people in Kaski, 110 in Nuwakot, 99 in Morang, 68 in Jhapa, 54 in Tanahu, 50 in Surkhet, 43 in Chitwan, 36 in Makwanpur, 35 in Sunsari, 28 in Kailali, 24 in Nawalparasi East and 24 in Sarlahi, 22 in Kavre, 16 in Lamjung and 14 in Rupandehi has been confirmed with COVID-19.
According to the Ministry, 2,582,375 people have received first dose of vaccine while 749,585 people second dose.
