Nepal logs another 2,444 cases of COVID-19, 42 deaths



KATHMANDU: The coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 2,444 people in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, RT-PCR tests were performed on 6,648 people and 4,992 antigen tests.

In the last 24 hours, 42 people have died due to COVID-19 infection that have brought the total death so far 9,051. Similarly, 3,853 people have been recovered.

According to the Ministry, 355 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kathmandu, 193 in Jhapa, 116 in Morang, 112 in Lalitpur, 94 in Sunsari, 80 in Chitwan, 80 in Kaski, 79 in Kaski, 60 in Nawalparasi East, 49 in Makwamanpur, 47 in Bhaktapur, 38 in Dhading, 32 in Nuwakot and 27 in Kavrepalanchok.

A total of 2,587,873 people so far received first dose of vaccine while 752,110 people have received second dose, the ministry says.

There are still 35,075 people in home isolation and 2,875 in institutional isolation. Among them, 657 are in ICUs and 193 in ventilators across the country.
